Barcelona is the closest major Spanish city to the UK by road, which makes it the quickest run we do — dedicated vans reach the city in 2–3 days, and on a direct routing sometimes faster. Part loads share the Catalonia schedule from around £1,000 for 5m³.
Where we deliver in and around Barcelona
The city districts — Eixample, Gràcia, Sant Martí, Sants, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Ciutat Vella, Poblenou — plus the wider metropolitan area and the coast either side: Badalona, Hospitalet, Sant Cugat, Castelldefels, Sitges, and up to Mataró and the Maresme.
Access — narrow streets and small lifts
Barcelona is an apartment city with a nineteenth-century street plan, and that shapes every delivery:
- Ciutat Vella and Gràcia have streets a full-size lorry simply cannot enter. The load transfers to a smaller vehicle, and sometimes the final stretch is a hand carry.
- Eixample buildings often have a lift, but frequently one too small for a sofa or a double mattress — those go up the stairwell, or occasionally by external furniture lift, which must be booked and sometimes needs a street permit.
- Loading zones in the central districts are time-restricted, so deliveries are scheduled to fit them.
The practical upshot: tell us the district, the floor, and whether there’s a lift. In Barcelona those three details drive the price more than the distance from the UK does.
What it costs
Standard corridor rates apply — roughly £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load and £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household, door to door. Full 2026 price guide →
The route and how long it takes
The direct approach is Dover–Calais, down through France and over the border at La Jonquera onto the AP-7 — Barcelona is barely an hour beyond it. Dedicated vehicles typically arrive in 2–3 days; shared part loads in 3 days to 2 weeks.
Because it’s the shortest Spanish leg, Barcelona is also one of the better-value dedicated-van destinations if you want a fixed date rather than a shared schedule.
What people move here
Flat contents, overwhelmingly — work and study relocations rather than retirements. Bikes, desks, kitchen equipment and books travel more often than three-piece suites. Many Barcelona rentals come part-furnished, which keeps loads small and makes this a strong part load → route.

Frequently asked questions
How much are removals to Barcelona? Around £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load; £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household (2026 guide prices).
How long does it take from the UK? 2–3 days on a dedicated vehicle. Barcelona is the shortest Spanish run, so it’s among the fastest we quote. Shared part loads: 3 days to 2 weeks.
My street is too narrow for a lorry — what happens? The load transfers to a smaller vehicle for the final approach, which is normal in Ciutat Vella and Gràcia and priced at survey.
The lift won’t fit my sofa. Now what? It goes up the stairwell, or by external furniture lift where the building and street allow. Flag it before the quote so the crew and time are right.
Do you cover Sitges, Sant Cugat and the Maresme? Yes — the whole metropolitan area and the coast either side.
Is Barcelona cheaper than the costas? Sometimes, for dedicated vans, because the driving distance is shorter. Part-load pricing is broadly the same.
